The policy of the State of Texas is to encourage the peaceable resolution of disputes and the early settlement of pending litigation through voluntary settlement procedures. Tex. Civ. Prac. Rem. Code § 154.002. Mediation is an Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) procedure under chapter 154 of Texas Civil Practice and Remedies Code.
After 23 years of advocating for his clients and observing the substantial cost of litigation, the emotional toll on the parties, and the reality of a party receiving justice or the desired result from trial of their case Alan Wharton has shifted the focus of his practice to help businesses, individuals and insureds amicably resolve their disputes through mediation. Mediation allows parties to maintain control of the conclusion of their matter without the cost, emotional toll, and uncertainty of litigation.
Alan has met the requirements to serve as a mediator pursuant to Tex. Civ. Prac. Rem. Code § 154.052.
In addition to Alan serving as a mediator he still maintains a legal practice that includes litigation and transactional work.
